This is a small prototype for a series of paintings that I will be completing of Muir Woods in California. Tracey and I stayed at a B&B nearby so we could get an early start on a long hike in Muir Woods. We had the best time looking up and wondering around watching birds.
This forest is full of massive trees and is an incredible site to see.
Muir Woods National Monument is a United States National Monument. It is located on Mount Tamalpais near the Pacific coast, in southwestern Marin County, California.
It is part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and is 12 miles north of San Francisco. It protects 554 acres, of which 240 acres are old growth coast redwood forests, one of a few such stands remaining in the San Francisco Bay Area.
